Brussels, youth exchange : Too Late to Ignore Us !

From 22 to 30 November 2025, the youth exchange “Too Late To Ignore Us” took place. Made up of six groups accompanied by their leaders, the meeting was structured around a common theme: engagement.

Giulia Marcuccio, educator at Dynamo International:

The participants came from Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Poland, the Czech Republic and Sweden. The main objective of this exchange was to develop a list of recommendations to be presented to policymakers during a final conference, which was also attended by social workers from various European countries.

The first few days were mainly dedicated to building group cohesion. Throughout the week, various initiatives were then implemented to help young people reflect on their own experiences and exchange ideas with one another, notably through games and creative activities. A meeting with social workers, who later took part in the final conference, was also organized. Most of the workshops took place inside the hostel, but the young people also had the opportunity to discover the city of Brussels, particularly during a day devoted to visiting local organizations as well as during their free time.

Finally, three workshops were designed to allow young people to express their opinions creatively: a video creation workshop, a writing workshop to produce a book containing their recommendations, and a workshop dedicated to creating graphic designs to be printed on T-shirts using screen-printing techniques.

Testimony from a young person from the Belgian group:

I really loved this exchange. We did a lot of interesting activities and talked a lot about politics and European issues. I also tried screen printing. We also wrote a book and then printed it using a really cool robot. On the second-to-last day, we had an amazing opportunity: talking with politicians about our problems. We also met street workers from different countries. I met some really great people and had an incredible time.
