Midi-info: The work of street social workers in Benin and Senegal
Brussels, Tuesday 23 April 2024. The CNCD 11.11.11 and Dynamo International – Street Workers Network co-organised an information session on the work of street social workers in Benin and Senegal.
THE THREE PRESENTATIONS:
‘The evolution of the phenomenon of children in street situations in Benin, and in particular in the Atlantic department’ by Roger OUENSAVI.
Roger has been a street social worker since 1992. Since 2004, he has been founder and coordinator of the national platform of street social workers – GRES BENIN, a member of Dynamo International – Street Workers Network (DISWN).
‘Problems and social interventions: the role of social promotion centres with vulnerable groups in Benin’ by Nadège AHOGA CODO.
Nadège is a social worker, teacher at the Benin School of Social Workers (ESAS) and civil servant at the Benin Ministry of Social Affairs.
‘Street Social Work, a practice at the service of the social inclusion of children and young people in street situation in Senegal’ by Augustin CARVALHO.
Augustin is a street social worker and director of Solidarité Pour les Enfants de Rue – Solidarity for Street Childre (SPER) in Dakar and Casamance, Senegal. SPER is a member of COSAED (Coordination Sénégalaise d’Appui aux Enfants en Difficulté – Senegalese Coordination of Support to Children in Difficulties) and Dynamo International – Street Workers Network (DISWN).
