Extramural social work: a privileged space for “detection and early intervention”

Vincent Artison, social street worker, lecturer in Switzerland, and resource person for Dynamo International - Street Workers Network, 2010
The aim of the Early Intervention approach is to promote an environment that is favourable to health and to strengthen the educational skills of all members of the community in order to provide better support for young people in vulnerable situations. The aim is not only to prevent or deal with problems such as family and school problems, violence, substance abuse and other risky behaviour, but also to strengthen the collective construction of a social context that is more favourable to young people’s development.
